She was predeceased by her grandparents, Richard and Frances Curley, uncles, John and Austin Curley and cousin, Joseph Curley. GALLANT, Mary Ellen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing at Etobicoke General Hospital, Toronto, Ont., of Mary Ellen Gallant (nee Martin) formerly of Tignish, P.E.I., on Thursday, July 8, 2010, in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Emile J. Gallant. Loving mother of John (Marliss) Gallant, Anita predeceased (Maurice) Dougan, Anne Marie (Eugene) Curley, Cecilia (Fred) Chaisson, Jeanette Matsumoto, Joe (Doreen) Gallant, Bernice (Dolor) Pitre, Theresa (Roger) Ruttgaizer, Nancy (Larry) Gallant-Turner. Cherished Meme of 31 grandchildren, two predeceased (Michael and Bruce), and 37 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Edna Arsenault, P.E.I., sisters-in-law Stella Gallant, N.S., and Annie Martin, Ont. Predeceased by her brothers Edward and Joe Martin, and her sisters Louise Casey and Catherine Arsenault. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, friends, and extended families.

Suddenly at his late residence on Saturday, July 10, 2010, of Francis Arthur Gaudet of 257 Maple St., Tignish, age 86 years. Beloved husband of Edna (nee Harper) Gaudet. Born on Sept. 17, 1923, he was the son of the late Arthur P. and Beatrice (nee Arsenault) Gaudet. Lovingly remembered by his children, Peter (Anne) of Tignish; Arthur (June) of Sea Cow Pond; Leonard (Jean) of Tignish North; Wayne (Joanne) of St. Felix; Angela (Leonard) Handrahan of Tignish; Linda (Lambert) Gallant of Tignish; Betty Ann (Floyd) Gaudette of Tignish. Dear grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Alma (late Edmond) Gaudet of St. Catherines, Ont.; Nelson (Denise) of Tignish; Edgar (Eunice) of Tignish; Ben (Edith) of Tignish; Marie (Carl) Gaudet of St. Catherines, Ont.; Arthur Jr. (Veronica) of St. Catherines, Ont. MURRAY, Joseph 'Leonard'

68, of Moncton and formerly of Petitcodiac and P.E.I., passed away at the Moncton Hospital on July 11, 2010. Born in Charlottetown on June 20, 1942, he was a son of the late Patrick and Ella (Toole) Murray. Leonard was the General Manager of Havelock Lime for many years. He was a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, and he was a co-founder and the 1st President of the Petitcodiac Boy's & Girl's Club. Leonard is survived by his soul-mate, Patricia (Ives) Murray, whom he married on July 25, 1962; his daughters: Theresa Nelson of Sudbury, Ont., Donna Brubacher (Frank) of Petitcodiac, and Tina Rogers (Terry) of Hillgrove; his sons: Michael of Salisbury and Randy (Ruthie) of Killam's Mills; his sisters: Patricia Wilson (George) of Charlottetown, and Eileen Coutts (Wayne) of Listowell, Ont.; his brothers: Vernon (Sandra), Frank (Anne Marie), and Gerard (Eileen), all of Charlottetown; 13 grandchildren, as well as by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
