Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, January 3, 2011, of J. Earle Arsenault, Charlottetown, formerly of East Royalty, age 62 years.
Beloved husband of Bonnie (Greenan) and proud father of Captain J. Daniel Arsenault, Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Son of Alcide and the late May Arsenault, Richmond, and son-in-law of Marie and the late Fred Greenan, Charlottetown. Brother of Eric (Jean), Ottawa, Vince (the late Sue), Edmonton, Gary (Marilyn) Stratford, Rose Marie (Brian) DesRoches, Miscouche, and sister-in-law, Geralda Arsenault, Wellington. Brother-in-law of Brian (Ramona), Ottawa, Emma Mae (James) Rafferty, Charlottetown, Bill (Barb), Calgary, Kevin (Bev), Saskatchewan, Miriam Greenan, Fort McMurray, and Ann Marie (David) MacEwen, Milton. Also survived by his beloved Shih Tzu Holly, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel until 10:40 a.m. Thursday, then to St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church for funeral mass at 11 a.m.

BEVAN, Sydney Arnold James

At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, of Arnold Bevan of Mount Stewart, age 55 years.
Beloved husband of Jane Bevan (nee Keefe) and loving father of April Bevan (Jason Arsenault) and Jaclyn, Cory and Chad Bevan. Arnold is also survived by his grandsons, James and Caleb Bevan; parents, Keir and Doris Bevan; brother, Allan Bevan; sisters, Donna Vessey (Ricky) and Tammy and Melloney Bevan; parents-in-law, Earl Keefe and Catherine McDermid; brothers-in-law, Gerard Keefe (Dianne), Eric Keefe (Kathy) and Carson Keefe (Andrea) and sister-in-law, Valerie Peters (Paul).
He was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Bevan; sister, Doreen Bevan; and brother-in-law, Kevin Keefe.

BROWN, Lynda Doreen

At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, of Lynda Brown of Charlottetown, age 63 years. Loving mother of Thomas Brown (Tracy), Traci MacKenzie and Blair (Peter) Brown (Tanya). Lynda will also be fondly remembered by nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and her only sister - Margaret Duncan Swan (Everett). She was predeceased by her husband - Blair Louis Brown and her parents - Leonard and Margaret Murchison. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6, at Stratford Chapel - Hillsboro Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery. CAMPBELL, James Austin

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 31, 2010. Loving husband of the late Diana Jean. Beloved father of Kim (Kevin), Karen (Geraldo) and Kelly (Peter). Proud Grandpa (Ga) of Jason and Jayme. Cherished brother of Noreen (Urban) Williams of Burlington and Ralph (Marguerite) Duffy of Kinkora, P.E.I., and predeceased by his three sisters and two brothers. Dear Uncle Aust to many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Born in Kinkora, P.E.I., in 1928, James left at the age of 14 and eventually settled in Toronto where he met and married the love of his life Diana in 1954. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters. James was very proud of his girls and will always be remembered as a caring and loving father. A consummate gentleman, James was known for his kindness, strength, wonderful sense of humor, the love of his garden and the passion he held for both politics and hockey (the Habs).

CHAPMAN, Joseph Howard (Joe)

87, Truro, passed away January 1, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Martin and Florence (Adams) Chapman. Joe attended school in Bible Hill as well as the Agricultural College. He and his wife, Audrey, spent a number of years working with the Boy Scouts in Bible Hill and the East Court Road PTA. He worked as a mechanic at Stanfield's Ltd. and as a counsellor at the Nova Scotia Youth Training Center for many years. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26 in Truro.
He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Audrey (McLean) in 2006; daughter, Joyce (Clarke), Yale, B.C. in 2000.
Surviving are sons, Joseph (Donna), Walter (Sheila), both of White Rock, B.C., John (Adrianne), Valley; daughter, Brenda (Raymond), Bible Hill; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lorna (Bob) Manzer, Bible Hill.

DOIRON, Edward Vincent

The death occurred peacefully at the Garden Home on Monday, January 3, 2011, of Edward Doiron, formerly of South Rustico, age 78.
Edward is survived by his sisters, Cecile MacLean, Rita (Reggie) Blanchard, Marie (James) Gallant and Josephine (Jerome) Chaisson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Dominique and Marie Jeannie (nee Doiron); his brothers, Joseph, Henry, Vincent and David; and sisters, Florence (Melvin) Dryden, Rose Anna Chandler (Ralph MacPhail and Ernie Chandler), Bernice (Eddie) Heartz and Stella Doiron.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.

DOIRON, Lionel Joseph

The death occurred at St. Anne's Church, Hope River on Friday, December 31, 2010, of Lionel Doiron, beloved husband of Shirley (nee Arsenault), age 73. Lionel was the loving father of Lou (Jan), Maureen, Colin, Carlene, Dee Dee Johnson (Dennis) and Willis (Lisa), cherished grandfather of Mayrean, Brett, Tyler, Breanna, Dylan, Nathan and Madeleine and great-grandfather of Reese and Gavin. He is also survived by his sisters Lena Quinn, Louise Larkin (Jerry Arsenault) and Yvonne Larkin (Roland), brothers-in-law Elmer Buote, Richard Arsenault (Karen) and Leonard MacDonald, sisters-in-law Pauline Clarkin (Richard), Lauretta Flessatti (Steven), Helen Doiron and Pauline Gallant and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

DOUCETTE, Laverne

The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 of Laverne I. Doucette (nee Myers) of Summerside, P.E.I. and formerly of Toronto, Ont., aged 66 years. Laverne was born on June 27, 1944 in Duvar, P.E.I. to her mother Laurinda (nee Gallant) and her late father, Eddie Myers. Beloved mother of Emmanuel (Joanne) of Brampton, Ont., Elaine "Lily" Doucette of Summerside and Cindy Doucette (Floyd Bernard), also of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren Crystal, Cody, Amanda, Melanie, Michelle, Keisha, Kaneisha and Tyreese, her one great-grandchild Randy-Lynn and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her brothers and sisters: Rufus, Patricia, Ted, Ralph, Donna, Linda, Gary, Darlene, Ronnie, Marie and Ricky. Besides her father Eddie, Laverne was predeceased by two sisters in infancy.

At the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Home on Sunday, January 2, 2011 of Margaret Rebecca Ellis, formerly of Donaldston, age 97 years.
Sister-in-law of Eva Ellis and Isabel Ellis. Also left to cherish her memory are many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Theodore and Mary Jane (Munn) Ellis, by her brothers Cecil, Harold, William (Phyllis), Eric, Alden (Margaret), Olin (Leah) and Rupert.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Donaldston Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 3:30-6:30 p.m.

Dear mother of Wilma, Calgary; Wayne (Maryanne), Calgary; Heber (Helene), Calgary; Errol (Marilyn), Summerside; and Darlene, Stanhope. Lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Sister of Eric MacPhail (Wanda). Predeceased by her husband, Ernest Ladner, and by her infant son, Myron P. Ladner.
